Teddiursa Community Day Guide

0-6 star coins

For Stardust-Boosting Community Days, a Starpiece is an absolute must. For unboosted Community Days, the extra earnings can still be worth the price of sheer catch volume.

1 Incense

Incense lasts 3 hours for this event, so 1 wrap will suffice for the duration.

Keep walking! Incense spawns more Pokémon as you move! Even if you’re stuck at work where nothing spawns during the event window, popping incense might help you catch a shiny or two. Remember that “quick catchYour Incense spawns will still make them visible on the map after capture.

Lure modules

Lure Mods placed during Community Day hours will last 3 hours. Playing in an area with lots of stops will also allow you to access a lot more spawns.

This Silph Road study concludes that Glacial, Mossy, and Magnetic Lures double the number of spawns attracted, with half of the spawns coming from a specific list and the other half coming from the biome, which should be picked up on Community Day. Because of this, using a new and improved Lure Module quickly becomes useful, during the CD’s 3 hour Lure Bonus.

These lures can bring rarer catches, including some evolved forms with a Stardust bonus, but you might still want to focus on the feature that Pokemon spawn with its limited-window exclusive moveset and increased shine chance. Unfortunately, Teddiursa isn’t attracted to any of the unique lures as a pure normal type, so sticking to normal lures is fine.

PRO-TIP: Use a new lure at 4:59. It will last another 3 hours and you will be able to catch some Pokemon while you evolve and trade Teddiursa. You won’t be able to lure anything on Community Day, but there are usually a few un-lured Pokestops, hopefully in air conditioning or with comfy seats. This may not be possible in extreme urban and rural games without a lot of communication.

0-6 lucky eggs

Community Day can be a great time to coordinate Friendship Levels for both players in order to eggs and receive double XP, as it’s likely that you’ll both be playing. Even for events that don’t offer bonus XP, it can still be worth using an egg or two due to the sheer volume of catches.

Berries and Great/Ultra Balls

It’s always a good idea to stock up before the CD. The thematic research “Catch 3 Teddiursacan be easily accomplished to help keep Pokeballs flowing during the event, so it may not be necessary to stock up on all areas first. Lures and Incense active Pokemon can also deplete your resources Resource-strapped players should remember to always open 20 daily gifts and upgrade item bag storage as soon as possible – it’s an investment that pays for itself quickly, especially if you’re able to grind and refuel from time to time.

Incubators

One of the best in-game uses for Paid Incubators is Community Day events featuring Pokemon that can hatch 10km away. On some CDs, the featured Pokémon was available through eggs at an increased rate. For this reason, it is generally best to reserve incubators for events that feature a reduced hatch distance.

A mega evolution

Bringing a mega evolution that matches Teddiursa’s type has the benefit of granting extra candies with each capture. For this reason, we recommend that you bring Mega Lopunny along the way, as it not only fulfills your normal mega-type need, it can also be useful against four-star Ursaring raids, if you choose to take any. Mega Piggeot is also a great budget option.
