Sally McNeil, of Allentown, Pennsylvania, lived with her husband, Ray McNeil, in Oceanside, California, with two children. She admits to shooting Ray twice on February 14, 1995 – once in the abdomen and once in the jaw. Her two children were nine and eleven years old and were present in the house when the incident occurred.

“Sally McNeil was released from the Central California Women’s Facility in the summer of 2020 after serving 25 years in prison”read the Netflix docuseries in part 3.
According to the California Department of Corrections, McNeil went to her “subsequent fitness hearing” on May 29, 2020. That’s when they finally granted her parole because she said what they wanted to hear.
Upon his release from prison, McNeil was living at the Veterans Transition Center (VTC). Her first meal was from the Golden Arches, and she happily explained that she worked in a warehouse. She is happy to be free to eat, sleep and work whenever she wants, on her terms.
