Melinda French Gates is said to be in the midst of her first romantic reboot since her split from Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and is dating former TV presenter Jon Du Pre.
Sources told TMZ that French Gates, 58, has been dating the ripped silver fox “for a few months and maybe longer.”
In fact, the philanthropist was spotted with Du Pre, 63, at a Brooklyn Nets game with the Celtics in April, suggesting they had been seeing each other for at least seven months, the outlet said.
They even appear to mingle with family members, with a group of them joining the couple at Pelican Hill, a 5-star hotel in Newport Beach, Calif., according to TMZ, which did not say when.
The couple “seem to be getting along well,” the outlet insisted.
The reported romance appears to be French Gates’ first since the shock announcement last May of the end of his 27-year marriage. The Gates – who have three children, Jennifer, 25, Rory, 23, and Phoebe, 19 – finally divorced in August of that year.
Du Pre was a national correspondent for Fox News for four years and anchored the news for a number of stations, including KPNX-TV in Arizona, KTVX-TV in Utah and KUSI-TV in San Diego, Calif., his LinkedIn shows.
For the past 11 years, he’s been a strategic communications guru with his own company, Du Pre Media, LLC — while also posing for shirtless thirst traps on social media.
Along with photos of him in the gym and training for triathlons, Du Pre shares proud family photos with his three adult children, sons Kasey and Jonny, and daughter Jessie.
He previously wrote a memoir, “The Prodigal Father,” about his dark quest to find his own father, an FBI agent turned civil rights attorney who had been a “hero” in his eyes, the Publishing Weekly noted.
“The author effectively traces his dysfunctional family history through uncomfortable afternoons in strangers’ drawing rooms while his father visited one of his mistresses in the bedroom” as well as “his father’s drunken rages” , indicates the summary.
Representatives for French Gates did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Du Pre still presents himself as “single” on social media.
Last month, French Gates admitted her divorce had been “incredibly painful”, blaming unspecified “reasons” why she “just couldn’t stay in this marriage anymore”.
It was revealed in 2021 that Bill had a long affair with a Microsoft employee in 2000 and allegedly asked out several women in the office while he was married.
French Gates later admitted that her ex’s association with now-deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein played a part in her decision to leave Gates.
“I didn’t like him going on dates with Jeffrey Epstein, no. I made him realize that,” the former IT guy told Gayle King on “CBS Mornings.”
“He was obnoxious. He was evil personified. My heart breaks for these women,” she said of Epstein’s many accusers.
