Leslie Jordan was going to the set of call me kat when he had his fatal car accident, a new report reveals.
It’s one of many emerging details related to the 67-year-old actor’s death on Monday, which also appeared on american horror story and Will & Grace.
According to TMZ, Jordan — who played Kat’s Cat Cafe worker Phil on the Mayim Bialik-run show — was driving his BMW toward the set when he crashed into an apartment building in Hollywood. People working on the show, which records in Burbank, grew concerned when Jordan didn’t arrive more than an hour after his call time. There was a scramble to locate him and they learned he had died in the crash.
It is believed that Jordan had a medical emergency which led to the crash. The same outlet reported that he had been suffering from shortness of breath for the past three weeks and made an appointment with a cardiologist. The meeting was supposed to take place this week.
A representative for the Emmy winner did not respond to request for comment.

On Wednesday, the Los Angeles Fire Department released a statement to Yahoo Entertainment with details of the crash. At 8:47 a.m. Monday, a passerby called 911 to report the accident, in the 900 block of North Cahuenga Boulevard in Hollywood. When LAFD first responders arrived, they saw a gray sedan that had collided with a curb, a tree and then a building.
Jordan, the sole occupant of the vehicle, had no pulse and was not breathing. LAFD responders released him from his seat belt and removed him from the car to begin CPR and defibrillation. LAFD paramedics applied advanced lifesaving methods for more than 40 minutes. There were no changes in his vital signs, so the LAFD, along with the base station hospital medical review physician, ruled that Jordan died at the scene at 9:38 a.m.
The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Department now has the case and will determine the exact cause, time and manner of death of his death.
The 911 call was obtained by entertainment tonightwhich reports that the passerby told the operator: “There is a man in a four-door BMW, in a gray vehicle, which crashed into the building. … There are other people who try to open the car door and get this gentleman out.”

Jordan told Yahoo Entertainment last year, “I’m 30 or 40 years old in the business, and I really think [Call Me Cat] is my favorite job,” adding, “I hope it comes down to the fun we’re having.”
Both the show’s account and Bialik posted tributes on social media to the “larger than life” star:
Along with his acting, Jordan has become a social media star amid the pandemic, entertaining people with his daily posts. He told Yahoo last year that a friend called him to say he had gone viral. “I said, ‘No, honey, I’m fine. I’m in Tennessee with my mom. I don’t have the virus.'”
The social media attention has earned him over 5 million Instagram followers as well as a book deal and the role in Call me Kat. Just a few weeks ago, in early August, Jordan purchased his very first property. He wrote on Instagram, “It’s never too late to be happy y’all” and shared a look at the condo as he sang The JeffersonThe theme song to “Movin’ On Up”.
According to real estate site Dirt, Jordan bought a luxury condo in the Empire West residential tower in West Hollywood for $1.75 million. The seller was the estate of Ivan Reitman — the director of ghost hunters, Grooves and Meatballs.
