Father and teenage son charged with murder of rapper PnB Rock

A man and his 17-year-old son were charged Thursday with murder in the fatal shooting of rapper PnB Rock at a restaurant in South Los Angeles, authorities said. Freddie Lee Trone, 40, who has not yet been arrested, and his son, who was arrested on Tuesday, have each been charged with one count of murder, two counts of second-degree robbery and one count conspiracy to commit theft. Trone’s 38-year-old wife, Shauntel Trone, the boy’s stepmother, was also arrested. Tuesday and was charged with one count of accessory after the fact to the murder. The teenager, who remains jailed, appeared in juvenile court for the first time and has been asked to return next month. Shauntel Trone was due for arraignment later Thursday. It is not clear whether any of them have retained the services of a lawyer. Police are still looking for Freddie Lee Trone, who they say should be considered armed and dangerous. Rakim Allen was shot September 13 at Roscoe’s House of Chicken ‘N Waffles while eating with his girlfriend. A thief approached their table and demanded items from the rapper, according to investigators. Rock’s girlfriend had posted the location and tagged the rapper in an Instagram post that has since been deleted. The thief took items from the victim and fled in a car waiting in the parking lot, police said. Rock was pronounced dead in a hospital. Rock was best known for his 2016 hit “Selfish” and for making guest appearances on songs by other artists such as YFN Lucci’s “Everyday We Lit” and Ed Sheeran’s “Cross Me” featuring Chance the Rapper. Her latest track, “Luv Me Again,” was released on September 2.
