Week 7 was tough on injuries which led to a lot of movement on the fantasy trade chart. It was great to see DeAndre Hopkins and Gus Edwards back on the court. Hopefully they can help you complete some pieces you may have lost this week. We’re halfway through the season, and the trade deadline is fast approaching (November 19 is the default on Yahoo). Don’t miss your chance to take a few steps.

For those of you unfamiliar with my business consulting methodology, you can dig deeper into the process if you’re interested. Each week I will also include a link to my updated trade value chart which will have additional players to consider acquiring, trading or holding.
Ultimately, we want to focus on market spreads and key players that I believe are overvalued or undervalued with a yield margin. With that in mind, let’s take a look at what to do with three intriguing players.
Trade for Aaron Jones
Jones is in a good position to try to trade this week. He finally had a good week and his manager is probably looking to sell expensive. He’s been pretty disappointing this season and that’s probably lowered his trade price. It looks like AJ Dillon is losing ground and Jones is finally getting some targets. He’s unlikely to be what he was drafted for this year in what has become a limited Packers offense. While there is still value to be gained, expectation management is going to be important here.

David Montgomery Exchange
Week 7 was the first week Montgomery really shared the backfield with Khalil Herbert (injury free). Herbert is a good running back who could easily hold onto some of that backfield going forward. Montgomery still had a decent week against a traditionally tough opponent. The market still seems to view it as a complete background, and that may be incorrect in the future. It feels like a lot of people are clinging to the fact that he’s been the star in the past.

Traded for DeAndre Hopkins
Hopkins came back and topped Kyler’s target share. Looks like the market is a bit slow on its return. My gut says the fantastic manager who drafted Hopkins and held him for six weeks is not going to trade him easily. It’s a good decision to potentially get a low cost starter. I’m just not sure you’ll be able to make this one in your league.
None of these players are must-buy or must-sell. These are just guys who are probably poorly rated in your league. We look for opportunities to gain value and exploit market perception. Trading is an art and the best part of fantasy football.
