While we’ve come to appreciate Amazon for providing easy access to all of our favorite products, the e-commerce giant’s adherence to updating our lives at home is equally admirable. Unsurprisingly, it features a slew of new gadgets heading into the holiday season, and many of them will appear on some of your wishlists. So, without further ado, here’s everything Amazon revealed at its fall hardware event.
Alexa VOICE REMOTE PRO
We’re all tired of losing our Fire Stick remote, so it was only a matter of time before Amazon could sell us a way to never misplace it again. The useful remote finder feature uses Alexa to help you find the backlit device, whether it’s stuck between your sofa or tucked under it.
ECHO DOT (5th generation)
The brand’s beloved Echo Dot devices are getting a few minor tweaks to give you a seamless smart home experience. New features include additional gesture controls and an improved screen on the clock-equipped setup
auto echo (2nd generation)
The upgraded Echo Auto offers a sleeker design that suits any car. Most importantly, you can use it to contact roadside assistance in an emergency.
BLINK MINI PAN TILT Security CAMERA
This new smartphone-compatible gadget from Amazon’s popular line of smart home cameras offers 360-degree panning capabilities that provide a panoramic view of the room you place it in.
BLINK WIRED PROJECTOR CAMERA
Boost your home security even further with this powerfully bright floodlight camera. It has a built-in siren and 2,600 lumens to deliver crisp video of what’s really going on outside your home. It’s not yet available, but you can sign up for release updates on Amazon.
FIRE TV CUBE (3RD GENERATION)
This direct competitor to the Apple TV has undergone some internal upgrades to better adapt to high-end televisions. Plus, the newest speaker/streamer hybrid has an HDMI port that you can plug into your cable box to change channels, that is, if you’re still using cable.
It’s hard to close your eyes when consumed by so many gadgets, but Amazon just released a device that’s actually here to make it easier. This well-designed bedside sleep tracker cooperates with the Halo app and uses low-sensor technology to track body movement, breathing, room humidity, and more.
echo studio (2nd generation)
From its inception, the Echo Studio has been Amazon’s most impressive speaker. As expected, its second generation features an improved handful of built-in speakers that pave the way for balanced sound while offering Dolby Atmos technology for total immersion. Additionally, the updated model will come in a new “Glacier” color – yes, that’s just white.
turn on the scribe
E-readers have long been touted as the way of the future for bookworms, thanks in large part to devices like the Kindle. Now Amazon is pushing the envelope with its Kindle Scribe, the company’s first e-reader to offer a tablet that lets you draw, jot down, or annotate your favorite stories on an e-ink display measuring a little more than 10 inches.
fire tv series omni qled
Amazon is no stranger to selling TVs, but we’ve yet to see one this high-end. The Omni QLED series represents a major step forward for the conglomerate. It has 4K QLED panels and an artistic display mode that rivals that of Samsung’s The Frame for a fraction of the cost.
While Amazon’s smart robot isn’t getting a second-gen upgrade just yet, the first is getting significant updates. These include a unique animal detection feature that can identify your dog or cat and then send photos of what they are up to. It will also keep you up to date on home security details, like accidentally leaving a door open.
